Congrats to our 2015-16 PSAT National Merit commended and semifinalist students!

National Merit Scholarship Program High school juniors may qualify for National Merit Scholarships by receiving a high score on the PSAT taken in October of the junior year. Juniors need a high selectivity index score in the 99 percentile range. Not all students in the 99 percentile range will be National Merit Semifinalists. Each state has a different cut off for the selection of National Merit Semifinalists. The score for Texas in 2015 is 220, and increase from last year's cut-off of 218. Four SEM students, Alex Goberna, Jacob Liou, Dong Hur, and Grant Hawkins performed in the 2014 Dallas All City High School Honor Orchestra Concert in October, 2014.

Alex Goberna, winner of DMEA Concerto Competition High School Division, also performed a violin concerto and was accompanied by the DMEA Faculty Orchestra.

LPAC – Language proficiency action committee. 
We monitor students who may need or have been exited from English as a second language services and recommend actions. 

At our campus, we don't have much need for this service, but it is a requirement from DISD that we have such a committee and that it include a parent.  If you would like to be that parent, please contact Steven Hyman.
